Home Solutions Fault-Tolerance

24/7 service availability is crucial for every financial institution. With TranzWare, fault-tolerance, reliability and system robustness can be achieved in conjunction with all of the following means:

Cluster platforms (any Intel-based  clustered  system, running Windows or Linux operating system) capable of providing high levels of availability and flexibility

Oracle Fail Safe software – high availability software, integrated with Microsoft Cluster Server that provides a fast, easy, and accurate way to configure and verify Windows clusters and to automatically fail over Oracle databases and applications. In the event of a system failure, Oracle Fail Safe works with Microsoft Cluster Server to restart Oracle databases and applications on a surviving cluster node. Additionally, such feature as creation of a backup database based on Oracle Archive Log technology increases system reliability

Stratus Continuous Processing ftServer family. TranzWare Online shows greater than 99.99 percent uptime on the industry’s leading 4-way symmetric multiprocessing (SMP) fault tolerant server for the Microsoft Windows® 2000 Server environment and provides the industry’s most valued offer for business functionality, reliability and performance

In addition, TranzWare Online itself has a fault-tolerant architecture ensured by the following features:
Multi-Protocol Transaction Bridge – a sub-module that allocates transaction load between cluster nodes and routes transactions onto working TranzWare instances running in parallel on different cluster nodes and/or servers

“Mass parallelism” – a feature that allows to achieve fault-tolerance on non-clustered system architecture (usually server configuration comprised of several different (independent) servers). This feature provides such benefits as:

achieving fault-tolerance on platforms that cannot be clustered;

achieving fault-tolerance based on local servers providing low cost and mobility;

building homogenous as well as heterogeneous server configuration (Windows, Linux, different brand hardware);

ability to migrate to more advanced servers with no system downtime;

unlimited near-linear growth in efficiency

Processing systems running on TranzWare can adopt two different approaches to fault-tolerance, either by utilising Stratus servers or Clustered Platform and Oracle Fail Safe. The additional fault-tolerance features offered by TranzWare Online can be used in either approach.

TranzWare has a modular structure and utilises open technologies providing superb flexibility and scalability. TranzWare Online supports a distributed (server) cluster architecture and has in-built specialist facilities ensuring a high level of solution scalability (Multi Processing Instances Technology). The system can effectively support any transaction processing volumes and allow incremental business growth without sizeable investments.
