"Alliance bank" (Kazakhstan) accomplished migration of its entire card system onto a new technological platform, built on the TranzWare product platform offered by Compass Plus.

In connection with a swift increase in the card business and a boom in the payment technologies market in 2005 the need for Alliance bank to find a new processing solution capable of satisfying the ever growing demands of its clients, and to also ensure that the bank achieve effective operation and control of the solution became evident.

In the same year (2005) bank management chose the solution to replace their existing processing system. As part of the modifications, the bank chose Compass Plus and their TranzWare products.

In 2006 the introduction of the new software began as well as work on the migration of the existing card payment system to the new platform. Throughout the course of project realization the bank introduced such program products as TranzWare CMS, TranzWare Online, TranzWare POI, TranzWare Interchange, TranzWare Analyzer, and TranzWare Messaging Gate. Thanks to these products the bank enlarged its spectrum of proposed services and in so doing, ensured a high level of system productivity and protection from fraudulent operations.

As a result of the joint efforts of bank colleagues and Compass Plus, certifications in the Visa and MasterCard payment systems were carried out, a new back-office introduced and the bank’s spectrum of retail banking products was substantially extended. Many additional services such as Internet Banking, notification by SMS, payment of public services or taxes through ATMs became accessible to customers of Alliance Bank. The successful collaboration between the bank and Compass Plus meant that Alliance Bank could now stand ahead of the leaders in its field according to statistics on customers and shareholders.

The director of Alliance Bank’s Processing centre department Vladimir Orlenko made the following comment: "Thanks to TranzWare CMS and the respective customization of solutions we could painlessly migrate the old processing system to the new one. At the same time, thanks to the routing solution, realized in TranzWare Online, the process of migration was smooth and convenient for us. I would like to stress the high quality of consulting services demonstrated on behalf of Compass Plus specialists."

Alliance bank is one of the largest commercial banks in the Republic of Kazakhstan based on asset size and shareholders’ equity. The Bank has Principal Member status in both MasterCard and Visa International and occupies one of the leading positions in the consumer crediting market. The bank’s regional network consists of 25 offices and 218 branches across the Republic of Kazakhstan. In September 2007 global financial magazine The Banker, included Alliance Bank in its list of top 200 banks of Asia. Today, the bank has issued over 470,000 cards from the VISA payment system and more than 21,000 cards from the MasterCard payment system

On 19th March 2008 JSB "Clearing House" launched its own in-house processing centre built on Compass Plus’ TranzWare Online, TranzWare POI FIMI, TranzWare Interchange. Previously, the bank had already launched its own personalization centre based on the Compass Plus product TranzWare Card Factory where the first cards have already been issued.

The head of the bank’s processing centre Vitalii Bilan noted: "Migration to our own processing centre was the logical result of many years of collaboration and vast work, accomplished by both specialists of the bank and Compass Plus. The solution to create our own processing centre was accepted by the bank a year ago after the refusal of PrivatBank to continue with the sponsor programme. Contracts to deliver and implement TranzWare software were signed at the end of October 2007 and by mid December the specialists of the company had established all their program products.

Practically within a month, the bank together with Compass Plus developed and tested a technological scheme of phased migration on their own processing centre and in the beginning of February we were to begin migration, but timescales were shifted due to formalities in the migration process. Now I can say with complete confidence that we were not mistaken in using Compass Plus to realise our project. TranzWare Online, the front-office system completely realised our expectations of being a flexible and universal tool, capable of satisfying all our needs, first and foremost, to accomplish migration step by step without allowing inconveniences in servicing both the payment cards of our own and others clients ".

JSB "Clearing House" became the 4th client of Compass Plus in the Ukraine with its own processing centre built on the TranzWare product family.

JSB “Clearing House” is a dynamically developing, universal Ukrainian bank, which is an associated member of the VISA international payment system. JSB "Clearing House" has already issued over 20 thousand cards and has a terminal network of more than 30 ATMs and also has an actively developed network of POS- terminals.

On 27th February 2008, Commercial Bank «Transportny» launched an in-house processing centre based on Compass Plus’s TranzWare Online solution. The entire project was realised within 7 months.

Director of the bank’s IT department, Aleksander Kan said the following about the collaboration,
“Together with Compass Plus and in many respects because of the highly skilled and well-organised Compass Plus team we were able to implement the TranzWare solution to the bank, certify the processing centre in MPS VISA and begin serving our customers within a mere six months. Thanks to the project our clients are now able to use more extensive bank services and thus obtain a better overall service. We now also have the capability to constantly add to our services making our bank a competitive financial institution in the retail market.”

The creation of an in-house processing centre was the result of a joint development project with Roland Berger Strategy Consultants realised as a part of the bank’s development strategy directed at the development of retail business and the remote banking system. President of the bank, Aleksander Arifov commented on Compass Plus solutions as follows: "The decision to use Compass Plus solutions was the best decision for the bank and allowed us to:
- implement the business processes described in the development strategy based on Western standards, with simultaneous adherence to Russian conditions;
- ensure flexibility of the solutions in a number of ways (frontal processing solution, the Back-office solution for an entire spectrum of the bank’s retail products, Internet- bank etc.);
- adhere to deadlines set out by the strategy;
- optimize the expenditures of the bank by saving on integrated solutions.

Already today the processing centre performs a complete cycle of operations in both issuing and servicing plastic cards. Furthermore, the bank will soon give a wide spectrum of additional services to all cardholders, such as: managing accounts, making payments through the internet, call centre or mobile phones.”

Further developments as to the functional possibilities of the processing centre will include the realization and support of loyalty programmes. Therefore, the card products of the bank will become even more convenient and more diverse, and the services - even more attractive for clients.

Commercial Bank «Transportny» considers itself a stably growing bank of Russia, with a high degree of financial stability. The bank is a member of the Visa international payment system. At the present moment the bank provides an entire spectrum of services to a wide circle of clients.

Ukrainian bank CLEARING HOUSE has commenced issuance of magnetic stripe and EMV cards in the VISA international payment system through its own in-house personalization centre, built on Compass Plus’ TranzWare Card Factory product base.

Manager of the bank’s processing centre, Vitaly Belan made the following comments: "The collaboration between JSB CLEARING HOUSE and Compass Plus has been established for over four years. During this time, Compass Plus has proved to be a reliable and competent partner offering superior and competitive solutions for the growing needs of the bank. On these grounds, Compass Plus’ victory in the tender to deliver a solution for the creation of an in-house processing centre and personalisation centre was no shock. Compass Plus added the TranzWare Card Factory solution to support the new SafeNet HSM ProtectServer Gold model as well as Datacard’s new SE48 embosser. Thanks to these additions, the bank could personalise their own payment cards (both magnetic stripe and EMV) thus declining the services of another personalisation centre. "

TranzWare Card Factory governs the entire process of personalizing both magnetic stripe and EMV cards, ensures the preparation of personalised data, the maintenance of personalisation equipment and the plotting of graphic information on cards.

Soon JSB CLEARING HOUSE plans to launch its own in-house processing centre with the support of Compass Plus based on the TranzWare Online product base.

JSB "CLEARING HOUSE" is a dynamically developing, universal Ukrainian bank. The bank is an associated member of the VISA payment system and has issued over 20,000 cards

The SobinDirect Internet banking system allows Sobinbank customers to carry out a wide spectrum of operations through any computer with web-access, providing users with access to information about the state of their accounts, deposits and loans (including detailed statements). Card transactions can be monitored in real-time and payments to various services such as mobile network operators, Internet Service Providers, and utility companies are also facilitated.

The customer can activate the SobinDirect service practically in self-service regime. Bank personnel simply issue customers with an envelope containing registration information. With this information as well as a Sobinbank card the bank customer registers in the system through an ATM. After initial registration the customer activates the service within the bank. This way the bank ensures a high level of personal data protection, and can also optimally distribute workload on Bank personnel.

SobinDirect also allows linking additional cards to the service, establishing personal card limits and customers to correspond freely with the bank. The system’s security is guaranteed through a range of complex measures, amongst which are the following; introduction of an SMS code for card account transaction authorization, periodic password modification and a virtual keyboard on screen.

Sobinbank’s First Deputy Chairman of the Board Igor Duda said about the new system: “Remote banking is no longer a costly, image-making tool. Today it is a real working tool which enables to significantly reduce costs of retail banking transactions. Taking into account considerable volumes of operations in this business segment, it is no surprise that this innovation is of great interest to us.”

The SobinDirect Internet banking system, created on the TranzWare eBank product base and integrated with other Compass Plus solutions, was harmoniously incorporated into the bank’s remote banking infrastructure. Sobinbank continues to develop its contemporary banking services with the use of Compass Plus solutions making it possible to stay ahead of the competition in the retail services market.

TranzWare eBank and other Compass Plus solutions are also being used in the Fin-Online system of Finservice bank. This unique credit organization created by Sobinbank and one of the largest Russian retail outlet networks – ‘The Seventh Continent’, works on an in-store basis. The system’s statistics are testimony to the vast possibilities and ease of use of the Internet bank. From the moment of launch, over the course of four months more than 10 thousand users were registered in FIN-Online.

Sobinbank is a high tech commercial bank and features in the top thirty largest banks in Russia. The bank presents one of the widest collections of international card payment products in Russia and is rated as one of the 1000 largest banks of the world in The Banker (FT edition). Sobinbank is a fully-fledged member of the VISA International and MasterCard WorldWide payment systems and is a partner of Diners Club International.
www.sobinbank.ru

Finservice Bank is a joint venture between Russian supermarket chain ‘The Seventh Continent’ and Sobinbank. Over 150 Finservice self-service ATMs work in twenty-four hour regime, thanks to which bank customers can pay off loans, withdraw cash, pay mobile service providers, Internet providers or even conduct currency exchanges.

Bank KOLTSO URALA ‘went-live’ with Compass Plus’ comprehensive bank card fraud monitoring and prevention solution TranzWare Fraud Analyzer with a view to address the globally prevalent issue of reducing fraudulent bank card operations.

Olga Sharafeeva, Head of Card Project Development Department at Bank KOLTSO URALA said: «In choosing TranzWare Fraud Analyzer as fraud prevention software the Bank considered the following:

ability to integrate the product without additional modifications to the Bank’s processing centre software platform;

comprehensive set of implementation, support and training services;

ability to process a large volume of transactions;

ability to independently set transaction analysis rules;

strict access rights and responsibilities control for product operators.

And last but not least the goodwill and well established business relationship between Bank KOLTSO URALA and Compass Plus played an important role in the Bank’s choice of software."

Bank KOLTSO URALA became the 17th user of TranzWare Fraud Analyzer. Thanks to these credentials the system was installed within the shortest period of time – just two weeks.

TranzWare Fraud Analyzer is a robust analytical system enabling quasi-online transaction and action monitoring with the aim of fraud prevention and risk management. The system is business rule based and can effectively monitor extra-large flows of data and can also be used to detect other fraudulent actions, such as money laundering.

Bank KOLTSO URALA continues to thrive in its field with Compass Plus solutions. As the Bank already features a broad spectrum of the TranzWare product family, including TranzWare CMS, TranzWare Online, TranzWare e-Bank and TranzWare Card Factory, the new addition marks the second year of this successful alliance.

Bank KOLTSO URALA is an Associate Member of the VISA payment system and an Affiliated Member of the MasterCard payment system. The volume of bank cards in circulation is continuing its dynamic growth and to date the Bank has issued over 65,000 bank cards.

The People’s Bank of Georgia is one of the first Banks to launch P2P card transfers in the Transcaucasia region. This technology makes it possible to carry out money transfers from one VISA card to another conveniently and securely whilst avoiding a trip to the bank. The new service will be operative twenty-four hours a day in all People’s Bank of Georgia ATMs (over 120). The functional possibilities of the Bank’s processing centre, built on TranzWare products, lay at the root of the new service.

General Director of People’s Bank, Georgiy Goguadze made the following comments about the new service: "The introduction of innovative solutions is not an achievement for the Bank alone; it serves to promote the profile of the country as a whole. Technological advancement in any company is represented as a positive development trend for any country. In terms of the new product, clients of People’s Bank can transfer money whenever they want, even on a Sunday and outside of working hours. Many months of work went into the launch of the new product which made P2P card transfers accessible to the Georgian consumer. This is a service that already enjoys popularity amongst European countries and I think that it will be useful since it can be used in any force-majeure situation".

In response Andrew Chirkov, Commercial Director of Compass Plus, made these comments on the collaboration: “People’s Bank of Georgia is a forerunner in the Georgian plastic cards industry. As a Bank it continues to actively enlarge its plastic card issuance and support network and simultaneously realizes promising and innovative projects. We are proud of the fact that our solutions give limitless possibilities and contribute to the growth of the bank".

People’s Bank of Georgia strives to be the most pioneering Bank in Georgia. To this end Compass Plus contributes to the successful collaboration as a reliable partner and developer of innovative technologies. The People’s Bank of Georgia is the largest issuer of bank cards in Georgia (approximately 45% of total bank cards issued in Georgia) and has Principal Member status in the VISA international payment system. The Bank also has the widest branch network in Georgia (180 branches) and is an authorized bank on state social program implementation (delivery of pensions, grants, etc.).

Compass Plus brings its new ATM monitoring module to effect in TranzWare Online.

This module is an alternative to the standard ATM monitoring functionality within TranzWare Online and is intended for banks that require more advanced tools to manage their large dispersed ATM networks. Banks that choose the new ATM monitoring module can ascertain control over terminal networks on a far superior level.

The innovative tools within the system ensure banks maintain a competitive advantage thanks to the parameterised control mechanisms for ATM network states and maintenance expenditure optimisation.

The new ATM monitoring module benefits from the following improved functionalities:

Flexible system administration capabilities

 Powerful tools of analysis regarding state, monitoring and control of ATM network

 Convenient and informative user interface

Convenient navigation system – visual representation of the network with customisable features for various ATM groups

The proposed functionalities ensure those who work with terminal networks gain a higher level of scalability and flexibility of the system.

The new tool, with its logical interface, makes it possible to effectively conduct both operational monitoring and detailed analysis of the entire network, group of terminals or individual ATMs through separate criteria obtained at the disposal of system users.

The new ATM monitoring module has undergone comprehensive testing and has been successfully implemented at Compass Plus’ Processing Centre. Several Compass Plus clients have already shown an interest in the module.
